We're pretty chill, but these things are where we draw the line:
Tachi reserves the right to terminate service at any time at our sole discretion. This is to cover us in case something we really don't like happens that doesn't quite fit with the above. Terminated accounts will receive a refund (or Dunkin's eGift card if applicable) for the remainder of their term.
Downtime not because of scheduled maintenance will be credited at the hourly rate Hetzner bills us for up to the cost of the service (so $5). Downtime is defined as:
Sometimes we'll need to take a service or the whole server down for work. This could be a quick reboot or replacing failed hardware (like swapping out a failing drive or some bad RAM). Scheduled maintenance means at least a week's notice was given either through the account area or an email. Emergency maintenance means a shorter notice (like one hour) and will incur a service disruption credit. Sorry for the inconvenience.
We run regular backups and do our best to take precautions, such as storing duplicated backups off-site. But accidents can still happen. You are ultimately the one responsible for backups and the safe-keeping of your data. Download a backup once in a while and store it on an external drive or Dropbox.
Email is offered as a complimentary addon and is not the main purpose of this service. We take great pride in running our mail server like a third-world dictator. IP reputation is closely monitored and we strike with an iron fist whenever a spam report is received. But despite these efforts, it's impossible to guarantee that no email will bounce or be delivered to spam. Email hosting is an artisanal choice, and we aren't artists.
If reliable email service is important, a dedicated email provider is a must. Our recommendation is Fastmail.
We do our best and beat out most hosts in the support arena, but we are (a single) human. Expect full support for all matters related to the hosting service itself, but issues specific to a site (like a plugin or theme issue) are different. We'll take a hard look and do what we can to help troubleshoot and resolve site issues, but if it's out of our hands, it's out of our hands. You may need to contact the plugin or theme developer, or ask on the project's forums. Questions about coding or writing SQL queries might be better asked on Stack Overflow. Don't be afraid to ask us a question or request help with something.
We include Monarx as a comprehensive solution against site malware and hacks. That said, nothing is 100%. There's no magical silver bullet when it comes to security besides storing your site on a USB stick under the shed. If Monarx falls short, we'll still do our best to assist with infections and cleanup, but we aren't security gurus. If ever hacked, it's a good idea to have the site reviewed to make sure all traces are removed and the original hole is closed. There are various hacked site repair and security review services available for this. We don't partner with any, but Sucuri is a common one.

The main Tachi site is hosted on Netlify. Sometimes I use their analytics. Here's their privacy policy. The account area at account.tachi.host uses Upmind. Here's theirs.
The main site doesn't use cookies or tracking besides the occasional Netlify analytics. The account area at Upmind uses a session cookie so you can stay logged in, and Upmind also has their own Google Analytics. That's it.
Your account information lives in the account area at Upmind. Your website data and files are backed up to Backblaze B2 and held there securely. We don't share your data with anyone else or sell it to advertisers.
We keep your account data by default even after you cancel, in case you want to come back. If you want your data deleted, just open a ticket in the account area and we'll take care of it.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. Need a copy of everything we have on you? Want something corrected or deleted? Just open a ticket in the account area and we'll handle it.
